The question nobody else answers

Where your site actually lives.

Most hosts with a San Antonio page do not have a server in San Antonio. Neither do we. Here is the real picture, because you will find it out eventually and it is better coming from us.

SAN ANTONIO the visitor DALLAS EDGE Cloudflare cache LONDON the origin server ABOUT 10 MS ABOUT 120 MS EACH WAY cached pages, images, CSS logins, checkout, forms, admin

Two routes, one of them a lot longer than the other.

Cached files come from Dallas. Anything the server has to think about goes to London and back. The diagram is the whole argument, and it is why the answer to "is it fast" is "for what".

Round trip times are indicative for these routes rather than a measurement of your connection. Yours will vary with carrier and time of day, and we will test yours on the call.

What is fast

Pages, images, stylesheets and scripts are cached at Cloudflare's Dallas edge, about 270 miles up I-35. For most visitors on most pages, that is what they are actually downloading, and it arrives in single-digit milliseconds.

What is not

Anything that cannot be cached has to reach the origin in London. Logging in, adding to a basket, submitting a form, using the WordPress admin. That is roughly a fifth of a second of travel before the server has even started thinking.

What we are doing about it

A US region is on the roadmap and it is the next infrastructure spend. Until it lands, we will tell you honestly whether your site is one where the difference matters. For a brochure site it is invisible. For a busy store it is not.

Read this first Who should not buy from us yet

If you are running a high-volume store, a booking system or a members area where most page views are logged in, you want an origin server in the United States and you should not take our word for anything else. Say so on the call and we will tell you straight, rather than selling you a plan you will leave in four months.

Why the certifications matter here

San Antonio asks harder questions than most cities.

Three of the sectors that dominate this economy have procurement people who will ask what standards your host holds. Most agencies cannot answer. We can put a certificate number on the table.

01 $10bn

Cybersecurity and IT

UTSA runs one of the country's most established cybersecurity programmes and Port San Antonio has built a cluster around it. If you sell into that world, "we use a shared host" is not an answer. ISO 27001 is.

02 $42bn

Bioscience and healthcare

Roughly one in six people here work in it. Any site that touches patient enquiries inherits a compliance conversation, and it starts with where the data sits and who has access to the server.

03 $48.7bn

Military and defense

One in eight Bexar County residents is connected to Joint Base San Antonio, and the contractor supply chain around it runs on documented security posture. Ours is documented.

Sector figures from Visit San Antonio, Key Industries, read on 25 August 2026. We have not adjusted them.

Not sure which of these fits you? Fifteen minutes on the phone will settle it.

No upsells

Included in every plan, without asking.

None of the following is an add-on, an upgrade or a line item. If you are on a plan, you have it.

Migration, however many sites

We move them. You do nothing except look at the copy and tell us when to switch. There is no per-site charge and no cap, and it does not matter how badly the last host left things.

Daily updates, applied and checked

Core, plugins and themes. Applied on a staging copy first where the site warrants it, and rolled back if anything breaks. You will not get an email asking you to click update.

Off-site backups, and restore testing

Site and email, daily, held somewhere other than the server they came from. We periodically test the restore, because a backup nobody has ever restored is a guess.

Uptime monitoring with a person attached

Checks every minute, and an alert that reaches someone who can act on it. Monitoring that only emails you at 3am is not monitoring, it is a notification.

Malware removal if it happens

If a site on our infrastructure gets compromised we clean it, at no charge, and then we work out how it happened. We do not sell you a security add-on after the fact.

A staging site whenever you need one

One click, a working copy, and a way to try something without risking the live site. Push it back when you are happy or throw it away.

An hour of maintenance a month

Real work, not admin. A new page, a content change, a plugin swap, a form that stopped sending. Tell us what you need and it gets done inside the hour you are already paying for.

Certificates on request

ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and our PCI DSS attestation, with numbers, sent to whoever in your organisation is asking. This is the part most agencies cannot do.

Worth knowing

Most of it is invisible until something goes wrong.

Which is the problem with comparing hosting on price. Switch the row below and see what a cheap plan is quietly leaving to you.

Free SSL certificate
Daily backups
A CDN in front of it
Dedicated resources, not a shared box
Updates applied for you
Uptime monitoring a person sees
Malware removal at no charge
Staging site on demand
Migration done for you
Restore actually tested
ISO 27001 certified infrastructure
A named person who replies

Typical shared host means the entry level plan at a mainstream volume provider. We are describing a category, not a company, and we are being generous to it on the first three.

The word does a lot of work

What managed actually means here.

Every host says managed. Almost none of them will tell you what they do on a Tuesday when nothing is wrong. Here is ours.

Infrastructure we own

A dedicated VPC on our own ISO 27001 certified cloud, not a reseller account on somebody else's box with your neighbours' traffic on it.

Updates applied, not emailed

Core, plugins and themes updated daily, checked afterwards, and rolled back if something breaks. You never see an update badge.

Watched, not just hosted

Uptime checks, error logs and a firewall in front of it, read by a person rather than a dashboard nobody opens.

An hour a month, used

Content changes, a new page, a plugin swap, a form that stopped sending. Tell us what needs doing rather than saving it up.

Backups you can restore

Daily, held off site, and we test the restore periodically. An untested backup is a guess with a filename.

One person, not a queue

You get a name and a direct line rather than a ticket number. Central Time, weekdays, and they already know your account.

Moving in

Leaving a host you have outgrown.

Most sites we take on are stuck somewhere cheap and slow, and the owner is worried about downtime. Here is exactly what happens.

Free migration, however many sites No downtime, the old site stays up You approve the switch, we do not
  1. 01

We copy, we do not move

Your live site stays exactly where it is. We build a working copy on our infrastructure and give you a link to check it.

  2. 02

    You look at it properly

Take a day. Click everything. Forms, checkout, the bits only you know about. Nothing has changed on the public site yet.

  3. 03

    We switch when you say

DNS changes at a time that suits your business, usually early morning Central. The old site stays up until the new one is answering.

  4. 04

We watch it for a fortnight

Uptime monitoring, error logs and search console, checked daily for two weeks. If something surfaces, we fix it before you notice.

Local proof

We do not have a San Antonio client yet.

This is the part of a location page where most agencies show logos from another state and hope you do not check. We have been running sites for sixteen years, several for more than a decade, and we would rather show you those and let you judge than pretend to a local reputation we have not earned.

If you are the first, say so on the call. Being someone's first client in a city should get you something, and it will.

Straight answers

Questions we actually get asked.

Are you actually in San Antonio?

No. We are a UK company opening a US entity, and we serve clients across the country. What we do have is Central Time support hours, a US phone number and infrastructure we own rather than resell. If having a local office matters to you more than any of that, we are the wrong choice and we will say so.

Will my site be slow for Texas visitors?

Cached pages, no. They come from Dallas. Anything logged in or transactional carries about a fifth of a second of extra travel to London and back. See the diagram above. For a brochure or a services site nobody notices. For a busy store it is a real consideration and we will tell you that on the call rather than after you have signed.

Do you work with regulated businesses?

We hold ISO 27001 and are PCI DSS compliant, and we can supply certificates. We are not a HIPAA-compliant host and we do not claim to be. If you handle protected health information, that needs a specific conversation and possibly a different host.

What happens if you go under a bus?

You own your site, your domain and your data, and there is no proprietary builder locking you in. It is standard WordPress. Ask for an export any time and you will get one, including if you are leaving.

Is there a contract?

Hosting and Care is monthly and you can cancel any time. Solo runs on a 24-month term because the build is bundled into the fee. Growth is monthly with a three-month minimum, because SEO cannot be judged in four weeks.

Next step

Fifteen minutes, Central Time.

Tell us what you have got and what is annoying you about it. If we are not right for you we will say so on the call, which saves us both a fortnight.
